Contract Logistics / FMCG
Challenge
- A global 3PL taking on warehouse operations for a multinational FMCG principal, with the warehouse system integrated into the principal’s own SAP ERP
- Several outbound streams (distribution and retail), each with its own picking, staging and loading rules
- Value-added services triggered both by EDI and by manual requests
- Free-zone and non-free-zone stock run in one operation under GCC compliance requirements
- A design that had to be reusable for the 3PL’s sites in other countries
Delivered
- Decentralised SAP EWM on S/4HANA, integrated with the principal’s ERP through SAP Integration Suite
- Inbound and putaway; three outbound streams with wave planning, full- and partial-pallet and loose picking, staging, transportation-unit planning, loading and gate pass
- VAS via EDI and manual orders: component picking, kitting and reverse kitting, packing-material consumption
- Free-zone to non-free-zone stock transfers; daily, cyclic and continuous physical inventory; automatic and manual replenishment
- Reusable RF framework and a parameter-driven enhancement framework, kept clean-core
- Warehouse monitor and KPI dashboard for floor supervision
Status
- Go-live October 2026
- Solution packaged as a global template for rollout to further sites
